Intro to SLSPS

The St. Louis Sail and Power Squadron (SLSPS) is a fraternal boating organization for those interested in all things boating, whether it be paddling, sailing or power boating.

As a not-for-profit educational organization SLSPS is dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable through education and civic service.

ABOUT SLSPS


frankwinklerregattaThe St. Louis Sail & Power Squadron was chartered on 22 May 1955. Its members boat on the Mississippi River in the Alton Pool, at the Lake of the Ozarks and on Carlyle Lake in Illinois.

The club offers fraternal and education opportunities to its members. It providing courses for self-improvement throughout the year to the membership and organizes various activities both on and off the water to provide fun and relaxation as well.

The club also provides educational opportunities to the general public by providing Public Boating Courses as well and many of the seminars now available for use.

It offers Vessel Safety Checks to the boaters in the area.


LOCATION
The state of Missouri is covered by three units of the USPS. These are St. Louis (SLSPS), Kansas City (KCSPS), and Missouri Ozarks (MOPS). In general, one can consider the St. Louis Sail and Power Squadron as covering the eastern half of the state and above the area which comprises the Missouri Ozarks.

PURPOSE OF USPS
The mission of the USPS is to promote recreational boating skills and boating safety through education, hands-on training, and civic activities while providing fellowship for members
